So, you thought my rant against Air India is over?
No, not at all.
I have more to bitch about!
From delayed flight to sudden cancellation, the fucking airline has ruined my trips in many occasions too many times to forget them easily. They usually cite bad weather or aircraft break down for their incompetence. If you turn a newspaper next day you are likely to find the genuine reasons for delay or cancellation – a lazy politician turning up late or an engineers’ unauthorized absence or flight getting diverted for a high ranking official and likes – full of feudalistic reasons deserved to be loathed. The airline treats commoners as if they are travelling for free.
If you manage to do check in without a glitch don’t woot beforehand. The horror story might actually starts from there. There are those old fat ass sari-clad airhostesses, who are ever ready to suck out your positive energies for silliest of reasons like asking them direction to loo or requesting for a water bottle. Those oldies with pink glossed lips and varied colored eye-lids, flash their fake smile as if age has failed to leave its imprint on their shitty face.
They rudely yell at you to buckle your belt at the time of taking off and landing. Any kind of request irk them as if they are doing a free body massages for passengers. Of course there are very few good airhostesses who genuinely care for travelers. But they are rare.
Often I wonder why Government does not do a favor to these oldies by removing them after serving a fixed tenure say 10 years. Once their tenure is over they can be engaged them somewhere else like army people who are rehabilitated to do police jobs after 15 years of military service.
Personally for me, the Goddamn airline has screwed my journey too many times to forgive them for any reform they might initiate. I curse the brats and bitches working there in coarsest of languages my wardrobe can supply. Can you believe these assholes have spoiled my honeymoon too?
I had made a flawless plan for honeymoon to an Island that includes flight and hotel booking for 5 days. Happily, I reach the airport with my brand new bride in my arm. I breathe a sigh of relief after collecting boarding passes.
Then the ghost of airline strikes back. The flight delays by half an hour, then by another two hours, and finally cancelled. Passengers frantically argue with the ground staff. The staff pleads their helplessness. Seeing no way, I immediately book a private airline to a metro that evening, from where we would take another connecting flight to the island the next day morning.
I lost one day but was happy saving my paid honeymoon by a whisker. Then something happens in the island that boils my blood at highest boiling point and I scream at top of my voice ‘motherfucker bastards’. I met a fellow passenger who was to travel in that cancelled flight. He informed that the flight actually took off at 3 PM that day. Have you ever heard a cancelled flight reaching its destination? That is what fucking Air India for you.
My ordeal did not end with that experience. My return flight was also in Air India. This time we clear the check in smoothly, and then security check-up and finally find our way into aircraft. I wish the smooth flight back would erase the bad memory. Then something happens again that would seal my bad perception about he airline forever.
The pilot announces breakdown of aircraft and asks us to wait for an hour or so. We wait inside the aircraft but the engineers fail to repair. The pilot orders the passengers to deboard and head to Air India counter for further instruction. We comply but the ground staff behave as if we are passengers are at wrong. They rudely tell us we could not be accommodated in tomorrow’s only fight, which was full. Rather they would accommodate us in a private airline minus the on-board food the next day. What is more the motherfucker badass airport director refused to arrange accommodation for overnight stay in the city.
Have you heard any airline treating their passengers like this? But Air India has no qualm doing this. It does not care a damn about its passengers because the people working there enjoy their job security whether the airline makes profit or loss. No wonder like a sucker the airline making loss year after year and on the way of demise. I wish them a faster demise. Not even a coma to revive them.
