Death scares everyone! Even Lord Jesus had experienced the fear once. A mere mention of the word ‘death’ takes craps out of many. Many wish scientists will soon some out with a magic pill that would make them immortal. Even that happens, scientists predict the world will be destroyed by cosmic forces someday. So, the hard f**king truth is we all will be gone someday. Only difference is time.
So, you fear death?
Ohh! Poor soul! Before I leak the 5 outrageous ways I’ll reveal first a secret that might help you to love death rather than fear it.
Okay! Have you watched Pirates of Caribbean movie?
There was a gang of pirates blessed with immortality. They lived hundreds of years knowing the sad truth that they are not gonna die ever. The idea of being alive forever taunts them so much so that they attempt to die unnaturally. There are stiff competition among them to die first whenever an opportunity comes.
The bottomline is nature’s way of organising life is perfect. You would certainly hate it if God blesses you today with immortality, would not you, just think over?
I hope you’re convinced with my explanation about life and death.
If you’re not continue reading. I pity on you:-)
Okay! Here are 5 outrageous ways to overcome fear of death.
Way 1: Become a Jihadi
Does not it ever occur to you how Jihadis, whether men and women or young and old, happily and fearlessly blow themselves up or fight their enemies for what perceived to be other worldly reward. These are the people who have truly overcame the necrophobia. You can join them and get your brain washed (brainwash)!
Way 2: Join Army
Soldiers are patriotic like hell and can give away their lives for their country from the word go. Again this patriotism comes from (perceived) positive brain washing. They have little to no fear of death. You’ll be so much busy everyday that you’ll have no time to even think of death.
Way 3: Fall in love
Unless you stay in cave you must have heard story of Romeo and Juliet. Both of them valiantly died for love. Every culture on earth has local version of Romeo and Juliet stories. Yeah, falling in romantic love is an amazing remedy to overcome fear of death. You’ll think of no one but your lover round the clock every day till your last breath. Even you can lay down your ‘useless’ life for love’s sake.
Way 4: Become a drug addict
Drugs take you from your normal state to an dreamland of fantasies. Ever wanted to sleep with a Kardashian? Pop up few fantasy inducing pills you’ll have your dream come true! Once you remain in drugged state you’ll not able to experience fear of death.
Way 5: Be a devout Christian, Jews or Muslim
This is most sensible of the 5 outrageous ways to overcome fear of death. All of these religions promise you heaven. If you abide by their principles death becomes but a transition to heaven. It does not ceases to amaze me how countless of missionaries and preachers laid down their lives for their beliefs. I don’t know how far their idea is true but you’ll overcome fear of death to a great extent.
If these 5 outrageous ways to overcome fear of death don’t help, you can follow my own method that I invented to keep this agonising fear at arm’s length.
How I overcame fear of death?
The fear of the death or thantaphobia stuck me when I was in high school in a geographic class. Teaching us the future of solar system, the teacher explained: “Someday the sun gonna be a red giant. It’s gonna consume the entire solar system like a fruit.”
“Beta, what is in your mind.” He asked, seeing my sad face.
“Then we all will die.” I replied, almost near tear.
The teacher chuckled. “Don’t worry, beta. It won’t happen now. It’ll take some billions years. By then we all will be dead.”
Teacher’s reply bought no relief. I will be dead. The punchline like a curse continued to play in mind for next few days. I started dreaming of being pushed from a steep mountain cliff by a friend I trusted, drowning while swimming and many scary stuff. Many a times I woke up at midnight acutely aware of the fact, one day I’ll be gone for ever.
Then the other day I fell ill. My entire body, each and every part, started to hurt badly. I writhed in unbearable pain and rolled on bed for hours crying ouch ouch. The pain was such hellish that I felt I’d be better dead than facing miseries of life. In another instance when my loving father died, I was so heartbroken that I wished my own death.
These events made me realised that fear of death is an emotion. There are time you would be voluntarily embrace it and there are others you will fear. Attitude adjustment can help deal the fear. I know I will die someday. I also know being worried or stressed won’t solve the problem. So better I don’t think about it. That is how I have dealt with this fear so far and I am glad it has become successful.
