The way Warriors won the NBA title this year is nothing short of miracle. It looked like ‘God’ himself guided the Warriors to the promised land. While the mortals Warriors haters continued to bitch against the team like cry babies, in the eyes of ‘God’ the so-called super villains and the arrogant warriors pricks were his chosen ones.
So ‘God’ a Warriors’ fan?
Is not that obvious in many ways, folks?
Let’s have look how ‘God’ led the Warriors through the red sea and valley of death this season!
Both Warriors and Houston Rockets wanted the number one seed in Western Conference so that they will face a weaker opponent in the first round and snatch the home court advantage. Houston Rockets own the battle of becoming number 1 seed but only to be disappointed after finding out that their 1st round opponent is tougher than Warrior’s first round opponent.
Crazier are the ways of ‘God’! 1st seed for the first time in the NBA history felt no value.
Again, the Rockets fought their ass off throughout the entire season to win the home court advantage but only to lose the same in matter of 48 minutes in game one. Nothing paradoxical than this. Though they wrestled the HCA back in Game 4 but could not capitalise it in game 7.
Finally the much anticipated clash between Warriors and Rockets happened. At one point Houston led the series 3-2 and it looked like all is over for the Warriors. Then suddenly Rocket point guard Chris Paul could not walk properly at the critical juncture. He suffered some mysterous hamstrung injury without an accident. The Warriors then went on winning the next two games to clinch the series.
There are lot of evidence of miracles in Game 7. Initially, it all looked like Warriors will lose the game 7 as they were down by 11 points by the half-time. Then a miracle happened. Rockets shooters forgot how the shoot 3s and they ended up bricking 27 consecutive three pointers. Warriors not only overcame the deficit but took the lead towards the end of 3rd quarter and did not give up it till the end of the game.
How amazing it can be?
The Rockets had buried their opponents with barrage of 3 pointers during the regular season. They had assembled lethal three point shooters to outshoot the sharp shooters of Warriors. But when it mattered the most instead of outshooting the Warriors they shoot themselves out.
The playoffs involving the Warriors were full of unexpected twists and turns.
Many Warriors haters badly wanted Warriors to face either Utah Jazz or Oklahoma City Thunders in the first round so that Warriors’ championship dream will be prematurely snuffed out. Both the teams, especially Utah Jazz had humiliated Warriors in more than two occasions during the regular season face-off. So all the non-Warriors fans thought the Jazz has a chance against the Warriors.
But ‘God’ had another plan!
Instead of facing Warriors the Utah Jazz and OKC faced each other in the first round and Jazz own after a gruelling battle but only to face the Rockets in the second round. Warriors miraculously bypassed both the bad-ass teams. It is worthwhile to mention that neither of the teams are better than Warriors. But the Warriors feared that facing either of the team will make them too tired to face the Rockets in the Western Conference finals. Their wish is granted by ‘God’ in amazing way!
After lacklustre performance of the Warriors team towards end of the regular season teams like San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers worked hard to avoid Houston Rockets and face Warriors instead as they believed Warriors are easier to beat. ‘God’ granted them their earnest desire.
And the result?
Spurs lost to Warriors 4-1 despite their heroic effort in Game 5. The Portland Trail Blazers worked hard to avoid Rockets and face the Warriors in second round. But as ‘God’s’ plan could have it they lost to weak Pelicans 4-0 in the 1st round and bade good bye to their hope of facing Warriors. The Warriors made light of the Pelicans in the second round by drubbing them 4-1.
How amazing that can get?
The extra ordinary development in Warriors’s fortune did not end in the Western Conference final, it was carried to the NBA finals. When Lebron James single handedly threatened to win the game 1 of the series something other worldly happened towards the end. With just four seconds left in the clock, the Cavaliers were awarded gamed winning two free throws after Klay Thompson supposedly fouled George Hill. But Hill could make only first one of the two free throws to tie the score.
Then ‘God’ intervened once again for the Warriors by confusing the Cavaliers!
After Hill missed the second free throw, his teammate Jr. Smith grabbed the offensive rebound but instead of putting it back into the hoop or passing to his teammates he dribbled the ball away from the hoop and ran remaining four seconds out. The entire Cavaliers team near the team. In the overtime, Warriors comfortably beat the Cavaliers.
